Which cities have the most run clubs?

Coverage is uneven by country — this is where Run Club Map lists the most clubs, not where running is most popular. The United States leads by a wide margin, then the UK, Canada and Australia.

What time do run clubs start?

Start times cluster at the edges of the workday. All 585 runs listed at exactly 6:30 PM or 8:00 AM were excluded from these figures — those were the two times the original bulk import filled in when a club's schedule gave no time, so they can't be told apart from missing data.

    Where do run clubs meet?

Meeting spots tell you what a club is for. These are lower bounds, classified by keywords in the listed meeting location — at least 94 clubs meet at a brewery or bar, and the real number is likely higher.

The welcome mat is out: at least 32 clubs say they welcome beginners in their description, and at least 81 mention "all paces", "all levels" or a no-drop policy. Belonging is the product; the miles are the excuse.

The busiest running brand in your city has no billboard. It has a Tuesday slot.

    Methodology & data quality

Every number above comes from a frozen Run Club Map snapshot captured on Oct 20, 2026. The base set is 1,295 active club listings and their 1,319 listed weekly runs. Only active listings are counted. Percentages are rounded to one decimal from the same counts.

Start times use the listed local wall-clock time for each run. Runs listed at exactly 6:30 PM or 8:00 AM were left out of the start-time figures. Those were the two times the original bulk import filled in when a club's schedule gave no time, so a real 6:30 PM run looks the same as a missing one. A manual spot-check on Oct 20, 2026 backs this up: 10 of 24 verifiable 6:30 PM listings and 5 of 7 verifiable 8:00 AM listings were wrong. Treat the "when" figures as directional, not exact.

Meeting-spot categories are keyword lower bounds, first match wins, in this order: brewery or bar (brew, taproom, pub, bar); coffee (coffee, café, cafe, espresso); run shop or brand store (running company, Fleet Feet, run shop, Lululemon, Nike, On Running, Brooks, Hoka, New Balance); park or outdoor spot (park, trail, lake, beach, river, greenway); track or stadium (track, stadium); rotating (rotating, varies, TBD). A meeting spot with none of these keywords is not counted in any category, so every category understates the real number.

Coverage is uneven by country and city, so read "where" numbers as where Run Club Map lists the most clubs — never as where running is most popular. City numbers are clubs listed on Run Club Map, not every club in that city.
